England's Harry Kane and Declan Rice will wear smart rings during the World Cup

England football stars Harry Kane and Declan Rice will wear smart rings during the World Cup after signing long-term deals with Oura.

The smart ring, which helps with sleep and recovery, will be worn by the Three Lions captain and the Arsenal stalwart.

The pair join an Oura roster, headquartered in San Francisco, that includes Team USA’ Fifa World Cup team and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Kane said: “Leading my country into this major tournament means every single percentage matters.

“When you’re competing on the world stage, knowing exactly when to push your body and prioritise recovery is key to securing those extra gains.”

Added Rice: “When you’re training and competing at the highest level, taking care of yourself in every aspect—physically, mentally and through recovery – is absolutely essential.”

Thomas Tuchel’s men conclude their Group L fixtures against Panama in New Jersey.

“Harry and Declan embody what Oura stands for in sport,” said Doug Sweeny, chief marketing officer. “The real competitive edge today isn’t simply doing more; it’s having the clarity to listen to your body and give it what it needs to perform at its best.

“That’s where Oura comes in, and why we’re so excited to partner with athletes who truly understand the power of recovery.”

Oura rings measure data points on sleep, recovery, balance, and knowing when to reset, according to the Finland-founded firm.

“Oura Ring helps deliver a clearer, more accurate view of your overall health than wrist-based wearables, helping athletes to prioritise sleep, stress, recovery and readiness when it matters most,” they state.

The firm recently announced a five-year deal with the United States Tennis Association, with controversy at the Australian earlier this year around the use of wearable technology on court.
