Amber Alert cancelled for missing 6-year-old boy
Police say there have been multiple reported sightings in British Columbia and investigators have ruled out parts of Alberta in their search.
An Amber Alert issued for a six-year-old boy who was last seen in northeastern British Columbia has been cancelled, but police say the child remains missing and the investigation is ongoing.
RCMP issued the alert in Alberta late Wednesday after the child was reported missing from a rural community northwest of Grande Prairie. The alert was later expanded into British Columbia, as well as parts of the Northwest Territories and Yukon.
Police say there have been multiple reported sightings in British Columbia and investigators have ruled out parts of Alberta in their search.
The boy was last confirmed to have been seen in Fort St. John, B.C., on Wednesday morning.
Mounties say the Amber Alert was cancelled because it no longer met the criteria for an active public alert. However, the search for the child and the other individuals continues.
