BAKER & McKenzie has become the first law firm to rake in more than $2.5bn (£1.5bn) in a year, since before the financial crisis.

The firm, which has over 1,400 partners worldwide and offices in 47 countries, printed revenues of $2.54bn in the year ending 30 June, it revealed this morning.

Profits per equity partner increased by seven per cent to $1.29m, with total revenues up five per cent. Increased M&A activity has boosted the firm’s results.
