Button issued title warning as Vettel reigns in Japan

SEBASTIAN VETTEL fired a title warning to Jenson Button after claiming an impressive victory in the Japanese Grand Prix.

The German Red Bull driver led from start to finish in Suzuka, while Button could only come home in eighth, one place behind his Brawn GP team-mate and closest title rival Rubens Barrichello.

The result reduces Button’s championship lead to 14 points with two races to go, but Vettel, who moved to within three points of Barrichello, believes the title race up still up for grabs. “It can still be done,” he said.

“Jenson will be looking at both sides after today. As I’ve said many times already, I will fight until the end, until the last breath.”

Button, however, played down the threat of Vettel, admitting: “I only lost one point to Rubens today, which is my main priority. Obviously we lost a few points to Sebastian but we were expecting them to be strong here. We go to two circuits now which should suit our car.”

Vettel was followed home at the famous figure-of-eight circuit by Toyota’s Jarno Trulli, with world champion Lewis Hamilton third.
