Cognizant announced its acquisition of Irish data intelligence firm TQS Integration, the fifth deal of 2021 for the global consultancy as it boosts its industrial data arm.

The deal, announced yesterday, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2021 and will see Cognizant further develop its presence in Ireland.

It is the latest in a string of acquisitions by the global consultancy which sought to accelerate its growth in data and analytics through deals with Zenith Technologies, Bright Wolf, and ESG Mobility.

Ireland-based TQS provides professional services across life sciences, food and beverage, energy and renewable industries. Its focus is on offering manufacturing data intelligence to help manufacturers speed up their digital transformations.

Congnizant said TQS’s data intelligence capabilities will be merged with its own industry and digital competencies. Using AI and machine learning to collect and analyse manufacturing data, the international consulting firm said this will allow manufacturers “to make smarter decisions and improve operating costs, speed of implementation, and product quality and yield.”

“TQS enhances Cognizant’s end-to-end smart factory capabilities,”said Srinivas Shankar, Cognizant senior vice president and global markets lead. He continued: “With TQS, Cognizant not only becomes one of the industry’s most comprehensive solutions for Manufacturing 4.0 for life sciences. We also strengthen our data historian and analytics capabilities to help all our manufacturing clients harness the power of data intelligence to compete in new ways.”
