Mo Farah: Prove I’m doping or leave me alone

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah has issued a passionate defence of his integrity, insisting he is “100 per cent clean” and urging his detractors to “prove I am a cheat or leave me alone”.

Briton Farah, 32, has not been accused of doping but found his character questioned following a series of allegations against his American coach Alberto Salazar and training partner Galen Rupp.

“I am not on anything, trust me,” he said. “To be labelled something you are not and labelled a cheat is not fair and right. If I am a cheat prove I am a cheat, or leave me alone. Prove I am crossing the line. Let’s get to the bottom of this. It is killing me, killing my family.”

Salazar and Rupp have denied the claims, and Farah has urged the British and American anti-doping authorities to settle any doubts by delivering a definitive verdict.

“UK Anti-doping and USADA need to get on top of this and deal with it properly as it is overshadowing athletics,” he added. “Alberto has helped me. But if he has crossed the line then I am out, trust me.”
