Former Apprentice star and telecoms entrepreneur Stuart Baggs has been found dead at a house on the Isle of Man.

Police were called to the 27-year-old's property at 9am this morning. A spokeswoman said the cause of death was “unknown” but not thought to be suspicious.

A statement issued today said: "Police can now confirm that the man is Stuart Mark Alden Baggs, 27 years of age. Police confirm that at this time there is nothing obvious to indicate the cause of his untimely death and inquiries will continue.

"The police request that consideration is given to the privacy of the family and friends at this difficult time."

Baggs was the youngest ever candidate on the Apprentice when he appeared on the BBC1 show in 2010. He rose to fame after describing himself as “Baggs the brand”, once saying: “I'm not a one-trick pony, I'm not a 10-trick pony, I'm a whole field of ponies.”

He made it to the semi-final before being fired, with Alan Sugar instead picking 30-year-old investment banker Stella English.

Sugar tweeted it was "terrible news", describing him as "one of the stand-out characters in the Apprentice"

Baggs launched his company Bluewave Communications in 1997 and had held a press conference on Tuesday to launch his latest product, which he described as revolutionary.

The statement added: "Police are maintaining an open mind and the matter will be fully investigated by police on behalf of the coroner."
