Hammered: Media legend Felix Dennis’ cellar to go for auction

 

When it comes to owning a piece of British media history, it doesn’t come more apt than buying a bottle of booze from the late and wonderfully hedonistic media mogul Felix Dennis’ cellar. Dennis passed away in June of this year and it won’t come as a surprise to anyone, he had an impressive collection of wine, port, champagne and single malt whiskies. 

 

It’s all being auctioned off on 4 December, at Bigwood Fine Art Auctioneers – all 755 lots. 

 

 

Although he’s best known for the notorious 1971 Oz trial and his 1980s penchant for crack cocaine, in his later life Dennis devoted his energy to writing poetry and creating a native forest near his Warwickshire home. He left most of his fortune to the Heart of England Forest project, and proceeds of the auction will go to its upkeep as well.
