Inner London gets jobs boost

By: Julian Harris

INNER London is the only part of the UK to have returned to levels of job creation seen prior to the recession, according to a report published today.

Employment across the UK has grown by more than three-quarters of a millions (780,000) over the last year. However, the TUC says this is explained by fewer people leaving their jobs, rather than faster levels of job creation.

The union says that job creation in every region apart from inner London was lower in 2012-13 than in 2006-07. In inner London, job creation was three per cent higher.
