Ohmium International Inc., a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge, high-efficiency, modular Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, today announced the appointment of Mark Griffin as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Griffin will serve as the executive lead of the Ohmium Sales and Marketing organization, driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, and the expansion of a global ecosystem of developers, industrial collaborators, and strategic partners. His appointment brings fresh momentum to Ohmium’s commercial stance as green hydrogen transitions from early adoption into mainstream industrial deployment.

Griffin brings over two decades of experience in energy, including work in hydrogen and renewables. At ScottishPower, he spent five years leading hydrogen market development and business energy sales, spearheading two multi-megawatt green hydrogen projects totaling more than £220 million. Both projects were government-subsidized and structured around 15-year decarbonization offtake deals in the glass and distillery sectors, displacing natural gas with high-temperature heat and locking in long-term revenue stability. These projects established replicable commercial models for long-term, high-value hydrogen supply in hard-to-abate industries and deepened Griffin’s expertise in complex energy transition strategy, risk management, and long-duration customer partnerships.

Prior to ScottishPower, Griffin spent more than a decade at BOC UK and Ireland, where he transformed a start-up industrial fuel cell business into a consistent growth engine, delivering 20% year-over-year revenue growth over six years. He achieved this through a disciplined commercial strategy that repositioned the portfolio, forged long-term supply agreements, and expanded channel partnerships, delivering measurable value to customers and the broader market. Griffin also managed a portfolio of major national accounts at BOC across clean energy solutions. Across both roles, he developed a strong track record executing CfD (Contracts for Difference-style) bids that secured multi-million-pound operational subsidies across complex regulatory environments and international markets.

“In a time when energy security and resilience are paramount, Mark brings the expertise and commercial drive Ohmium needs. His hands-on experience delivering large-scale hydrogen projects, navigating complex global markets, and building long-term customer relationships will be critical as we accelerate deployment and deepen our customer base worldwide,” said Dr. Markus Tacke, CEO, Ohmium International.

“The opportunity to build enduring, high-value green hydrogen relationships is here, and Ohmium has the technology, pipeline, and team to lead the charge. I’m excited to create meaningful impact for our customers. Winning teams are built on commitment, accountability, and collaboration. These are values I have lived through my career and 18 years as a player and eventual coach of rugby. I will bring them to Ohmium from day one,” said Mark Griffin, CCO, Ohmium International.

With a global green hydrogen project pipeline exceeding 2 GW across three continents, Ohmium is well positioned to capitalize on the accelerating shift toward clean industrial energy. Griffin’s appointment strengthens the commercial leadership needed to translate that pipeline into long-term customer partnerships and sustained market growth.
