Before the open: FTSE expected up following Chinese strengthening

Given stronger data in from China this morning, investors are expecting London's leading index to move higher at the open. 

Industrial production and retail sales came in higher than analysts anticipated.

  • French July industrial output at 07.45. Expected rise from -1.4 per cent to 0.6 per cent.
  • Italian second quarter GDP at 09.00. Expected to rise from -0.6 per cent to -0.2 per cent.
  • UK third quarter credit conditions at 09.30
