National Ethical Investment Week rebranded as Good Money Week to broaden remit

Those of you feverishly anticipating the return of National Ethical Investment Week will have been disappointed yesterday by its demise. The campaign has been killed off by the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and rebranded as Good Money Week.

Why? “To make it more accessible to a wider audience,” says the group’s website. Before we all accuse UKSIF of underestimating the British public’s understanding of the term “ethical,” it turns out the re-brand was designed to broaden the week’s remit.

“In the past we’ve had to work a bit harder to get our key message across. The week is about the environmental and social impacts of your financial decisions, not just about ethical investment funds,” explained project director Lisa Stonestreet.

Thank goodness, we’d hate to think you were being condescending.
