TalkSport has extended its international broadcast deal with the Premier League to 2019.

The radio station, owned by Belfast-based UTV media, will broadcast Premier League games to audiences in the UK and abroad for the next five years. A previous deal between the two parties had been due to expire at the end of the 2015/16 season.

TalkSport will have exclusive international audio rights to broadcast all 380 Premier League games a season, in any language. The station currently broadcasts in nine different languages including Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesian and Arabic.

Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League, said:

TalkSport has for many years produced high-quality radio commentary of Premier League matches in the UK, and successfully extended this to an international audience when they became our first global audio licensee two seasons ago.

We are extremely pleased that we will continue this partnership and look forward to working with them as they make Premier League radio commentary available in more languages and to more countries around the world.
