Scottish independence debate: Here’s what Twitter’s saying about Salmond V Darling

By: Lynsey Barber

Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling, leader of the Better Together campaign, are going head to head in a live TV debate ahead of the Scottish Independence Referendum.

In the blue corner, Salmond is urging Scotland to vote for independence, and on the other side is Darling, who is arguing for Scotland to remain part of the UK.

No that anyone south of the border would know since it’s only being broadcast in Scotland on STV, and the online stream seems to be having a few issues.

For those having problems with the STV Player at the moment we are aware of this and are working hard to fix it.

— STV (@WeAreSTV) August 5, 2014

We're still working on fixing the live stream. The debate will be available online in full a few hours after the programme has finished.

Any way to watch this indyref debate? Any body? Help? Even audio… A cartoon version? @wearestv

DIMBLEFACT: ALTHOUGH IMPROBABLE, "STV" STAFF HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY OPERATED CAMERAS BEFORE #SCOTDECIDES #INDYREF

— DIMBLEBOT (@DIMBLEBOT) August 5, 2014

How ironic. I'm watching the Scottish independence debate online here in New York; colleagues in London can't get it. #indyref

Anything could be happening right now.

And England will miss out on playing the Salmond V Darling drinking game.

Luckily there's Twitter.

Somebody get Jed Bartlet in there to show them how it's done.#indyref

Question for Darling… does he dye his eyebrows? #ScotDecides #indyref

— Dan (@das99_) August 5, 2014

#indyref #ScotDecides we're all doomed … either way. Norway sounds nice though.
