Thousands expected to march for second EU referendum in London

Thousands of people are expected to march in central London today for a final referendum on the Brexit deal, the so-called people’s vote.

The march started at midday in Park Lane and finishes in Parliament Square where marchers will hear speakers, including TV chef Delia Smith and London mayor Sadiq Khan, argue for a vote on the final Brexit deal.

Coachloads of supporters of the march have been tweeting their journey’s to London, including one group travelling from Orkney in the far north of Scotland.

Politicians from all the main parties have expressed their support including Labour MP for Tottenham David Lammy, former Conservative cabinet ministers Dominic Grieve and Justine Greening and Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable.

Pro-Brexit organisation leave means leave is holding a rally of its own in Harrogate with attendees including former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, Labour MP Kate Hoey and former Conservative minister Owen Paterson.
