Three’s the magic number for Carphone in joint mobile talks
Carphone Warehouse is in advanced negotiations with mobile operator Three to launch its own branded mobile offering on the network, akin to Tesco Mobile or Virgin Mobile.
While branding and details are yet to be decided, people close to the talks told CityAM that Carphone could launch its mobile offering by the end of the year.
Carphone is set to merge with Dixons in August, forming the new Dixons Carphone group, as part of a £3.7bn takeover.
Talks with Three, which stopped selling its devices in Carphone’s stores in December, were said to predate the Dixons merger and did not include plans for Three to return to Carphone’s stores.
