Voting in the 2024 UK General Election will take place on Thursday, July 4.

Labour has won the UK General Election securing a huge majority as Rishi Sunak conceded defeat.

Labour have gained 412 seats while the Conservatives have lost more than 20 per cent of the vote they received in 2019, including many Cabinet Ministers and former Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Keir Starmer has formally been appointed as Prime Minister after meeting King Charles at midday on Friday.

Polls opened nationwide on Thursday, July 4, at 7 a.m. and closed at 10 p.m. The exit pole at 10 p.m. predicted Sir Keir Starmer’s party won with an estimated overall majority of 170 seats.

The results of General Election rolled out over the early hours on Friday morning. Labour has gained 412 seats, the Conservatives came second with 121, followed by Liberal Democrats with 71.

There are still two seats left to be called out of the 650 seats.
