Warnock keen to repay debt

By: Ross McLean

NEW Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock insists he has a debt to pay as his second stint at the club begins with a trip to Newcastle tomorrow.

The 65-year-old’s appointment on Wednesday ended a chaotic spell at Selhurst Park, triggered by the departure of Tony Pulis less than 48 hours before the start of the season.

The Eagles yesterday re-signed Wifried Zaha on a season-long loan from Manchester United and the former QPR boss believes the deal makes perfect sense for both parties.

“I owe something to the club and I thought it would be great to repay that,” said Warnock.

“I think Wilfried needs us like we need Wilfried. He’s been at a big club and he probably got lost in the chambers there.”
