Where Canary Wharf’s daredevil base jumpers would like to leap from next

 

Back in late July, two men walked into the busy Attic Bar, on the 48th floor of Canary Wharf’s Pan Peninsula skyscraper in London, made their way out to the balcony…and jumped off – leaving witnesses screaming and dumbfounded. 

 

The pair are base jumpers, both deploying parachutes soon after they leapt from the ledge. A video depicting the daring jump was released this morning by Epic TV. 

 

After the death-defying leap, they were caught by police but later released without charge. It certainly wasn’t their first jump; they call themselves professional base jumpers and travel the world looking for their next ledge. 

 

So we thought, well, where next? The dynamic duo don’t want to be named but The Capitalist was able to catch up with them to find out where they would most like to jump from next. 

 

 

(We have to admit, one of the mysterious daredevils did prefix this list with “Obviously, most of these are impossible and would never happen. However, these are the ones that I dream of at night.”)

 

 

Just down the road from Pan Peninsula, 25 Canada Square, or Citi Tower is 200 metres tall and is currently the joint fourth tallest building in London. 

 

 

This breath-taking tower in Dubai is the tallest man-made structure in the world. It stands at 828 metres. In April the highest base jump in the world was recorded here. 

 

 

France’s greatest landmark built in 1889 was the tallest building in the world until 1930 – it’s top floor is 273 metres. It is a popular base jumping destination. 

 

 

Toronto’s tallest tower was the highest in the world until the Burj Khalifa came and surpassed its 553 metres. One of the tower’s construction crew actually parachuted off in 1975, losing his job. 

 

 

Arguably one of London’s best known landmarks, Tower Bridge is 64 metres high.
