Ex-Lord Mayor of London Fiona Woolf is back but is she looking for a new job yet?

Having been relieved of her mayoral duties earlier in the month, you might expect Fiona Woolf to be on a long holiday, but she’s trekking to Claridge’s tonight, to speak at executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles’ Leveraging the Capital event.

The guest list is like a who’s who of chairmen, with ICAP’s Charles Gregson, Vodafone’s Dr Gerard Kleisterlee and WPP’s Philip Lader, a former US ambassador to the UK, all set to attend.

Having stepped down as chair of the government’s inquiry into child abuse, perhaps Woolf might pick up a chair position or two.

Speaking of female chairmen, it’s a meeting 30% Club founder and Newton Investments chief Helena Morrissey would be proud of. Around 36 per cent of the board members and directors attending are women – higher than her 30 per cent target and the FTSE 100’s 22.8 per cent current figure. Bravo.
