This is West Ham’s “five point plan” to tackle fan violence in the London Stadium

West Ham have unveiled their plan of action for ridding fan disorder from the London Stadium.

The Hammers have conducted a full review into how their new home in a start of the art stadium was turned into a combat zone for opposing fans on Wednesday night.

A 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the EFL Cup was marred by clashes between home and away supporters which has already led to seven arrests and calls from MPs for the club to be forced to play matches behind closed doors in the event of any further trouble.

Even before Chelsea's visit, the club had banned 23 fans from the ground due to ongoing disorder in the stands.

After sifting through CCTV footage from Wednesday night, West Ham have pledged to ban up to 200 fans from the stadium and have now published further details of their plan to tackle the problem that could damage both the image of the club and the stadium itself.

West Ham's five point-plan:
"Create more distance between opposing fans to prevent missile throwing by widening segregation."
"Remove risk groups from the stadium permanently with our 'zero tolerance' banning policy".
"Strengthen and widen the lines of segregation on the lower concourse walkway by creating higher barriers and a 10-metre wide sterile area."
"Ensure home and away fans egress is physically segregated upon exiting the stadium to prevent clashes on the podium. This consists of a physical barrier either side of the away supporter turnstiles and prevents supporter integration after the game."
"Inside the stadium we will also be employing the enhances tactic of issuing a group of stewards with handheld video cameras. Stewards currently have cameras attached to their armour but we believe this investment will act as a clear and visible deterrent."
