Paddy Power has the odds on which group will call a strike next

After Southern rail strikes left commuters stranded, Post Office workers threatened branch closures before Christmas, cabin crew at British Airways voted for industrial action and even Argos drivers announced a disruptive strike before talking it out with their bosses, Paddy Power has now offered the odds on which group will strike next.

"Glorious post-Brexit Britain is doing its best to give those French strikers a run for their money," Paddy Power said.

The bookmaker said the country has been "brought to a standstill by strike action", and is now offering a way to make some cash on the next disruption.

Odds doctors will go on strike after a year of uncertainty for the NHS were at 6/5, the bookie said, while bus drivers were up next at odds of 7/2 followed by police at 4/1.

Least likely to head to the picket line were footballers, politicians and Santa's elves – all at 100/1.
