Chime scores higher profit with World Cup and Sochi Olympics

Internal changes and external opportunity led communications and sports marketing group Chime Communications to rising profits, the company announced yesterday.

Chime enjoyed a 19 per cent climb in profits before tax since 2013, closing the year at £30.1m. Revenues rose to £386.17m, a 31.6 per cent increase.

Its consolidation of its divisions from five to four, with PR being absorbed by the others, was a key operational highlight of the year. All divisions reported a rise in income and profits.

The Sochi Winter Olympics, the World Cup in Brazil and Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games all boosted Chime. “Our communications businesses continue to grow and with the proportion of shared clients also increasing, we are sharpening our competitiveness,” said chief executive Christopher Satterthwaite.
