Beer behemoth AB InBev has changed its UK name to Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I as it doubles down on its commitment to the region after Brexit.

The world’s biggest brewer, whose brands include Budweiser and Stella Artois, said the more recognisable name will boost awareness of the company and marks the firm’s latest show of confidence in the UK and Ireland.

The company recently appointed Paula Lindenberg as its regional president and opened new London headquarters in Farringdon.

The newly-formed Budweiser Brewing Group has also outlined its commitment to sustainability and championing Britain’s beer culture.

“We are a fast-paced, ambitious group that dreams big, and we have exciting plans ahead for the UK and Ireland,” said Lindenberg.

“Through the power and recognition of the Budweiser brand, we want to open ourselves up to working with more partners to achieve our ambitions.”

AB InBev, which became the world’s largest brewer after a £79bn takeover of British rival SABMiller in 2016, will retain its global group name.
