Mobile financial services firm eServGlobal promotes executive
ESERVGLOBAL, which provides mobile financial services to emerging markets, has promoted its finance chief Stephen Blundell to the role of chief operating officer.
Blundell, who has served as chief financial officer for the firm since 2009, will be responsible for eServGlobal’s day-to-day operations, including revenue delivery, product development and sales.
In his new role, he will report to Paolo Montessori, the chief executive.
The company said Montessori will continue to oversee the functions of finance, HR, legal and investor relations, but will have more time to work with the board on the company’s long-term strategy.
Chairman Duncan Lewis said: “Stephen Blundell has demonstrated great commitment and achievement as CFO of eServGlobal. This is an important step in the company’s development as it focuses now on the transformation of its core business following the successful creation of the HomeSend joint venture.”
HomeSend is a payments hub designed for the transfer of money across borders between mobile money accounts, payment cards, bank accounts or cash outlets.
Blundell will remain an executive director and as one of eServGlobal’s directors on the board of HomeSend.
The company added that interim VP Finance, Andy Duffen, has been appointed while eServGlobal searches for a new CFO.
