MARUSSIA driver Jules Bianchi will continue his battle to recover from a horror smash at the Japanese Grand Prix in Yokkaichi, contrary to suggestions he would be transferred to Europe, his family has confirmed.

The 25-year-old remains in a “critical but stable” condition after suffering severe head injuries during a collision with a tractor vehicle on 5 October.

“Jules does indeed continue to fight,” read a family statement. “At this time his fight will continue here in Yokkaichi. We are taking things step by step.”
