STOKE CITY 2 SWANSEA CITY 1

STOKE boss Mark Hughes believes Swansea counterpart Garry Monk showed the hallmarks of inexperience after accusing Victor Moses of cheating during his side’s loss in the Potteries yesterday.

Former Chelsea winger Moses went down under the challenge of full-back Angel Rangel to earn his side a penalty which Charlie Adam duly dispatched to cancel out Wilfried Bony’s opening spot-kick.

Jonathan Walters climbed off the bench to head home an enticing delivery from fellow substitute Oussama Assaidi with 14 minutes remaining, with Hughes unimpressed with the assertions of his opposite number.

“I heard him [Garry Monk] say that my player is a cheat, which is unacceptable in my view,” said Hughes. “He’s obviously upset but sometimes you have to bite your tongue. Maybe that will come with experience.”

Monk was furious with the award of the Stoke penalty by referee Michael Oliver was not shy at venting his frustrations at the actions of Moses, who he insists went down theatrically under minimla contact from Rangel.

Monk said: “He should be punished for diving, a clear dive, which is cheating.”
