TAKING THE MICKEY

Just a few weeks ago, enraged Panmure Gordon chief executive Tim Linacre told The Capitalist he’d rather see Mickey Mouse running the country as Prime Minister instead of Gordon Brown, after the government infuriated the City by raising the top tax band to 50 per cent.

And yesterday, after Gary Keogh bagged his allocated five minutes of fame throwing eggs at Allied Irish Bank chairman Dermot Gleeson at the beleaguered firm’s EGM in Dublin, the Irish pensioner also mooted the idea of handing the reins to the Disney character and his pals.

“The whole board should be replaced by Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck,” he hollered, angrily.

Could a cartoon rodent fast be becoming the most sought-after job candidate in the British Isles?
