Victoria Line down after person on the track

Commuters on the Victoria Line faced a chaotic start to Monday morning, with the entire line being closed for several hours because of a person on the track.

The line was closed between Warren Street and Brixton from around 6:30am until just after 8:30am. It has now reopened, but Transport for London is reporting that there are still severe delays.

Commuters are still being advised to seek alternative routes to work.

There is no word on the condition of the person.

Both Victoria Station and Brixton station were closed this morning, although at least in the case of the latter this appears to have been because of over-running engineering works.

Commuters were also being forced to queue to enter the station because there was no down escalator in use.

Unsurprisingly, passengers were not very happy.
