We have launched the Toast the City awards 2026 and throughout the year we’ll be speaking to some of our nominees – this week, Amber Holdforth, sales and marketing manager at Horizon 22 Events by Searcys tells us all the things she loves about the Square Mile.

What makes Horizon 22 Events by Searcys stand out?

London! With our 300 degree views, we see it ALL! We see the real vibrancy of London, historic buildings, architectural icons – the good and the ugly! – and our neighbouring sky scrapers. We’re set in the heart of a multicultural city so our kaleidoscopic motif is a true representation of London… including the weather(s) we can experience it all in one day!

How would your regulars describe Horizon 22 Events by Searcys in three words?

Iconic. Unique. WOW!

What’s the one thing you do better than anyone else?

The execution of our seasonal offerings – from soft serve ice cream to champagne towers.

What’s the biggest challenge running a business in the City?

The WFH – TWT [Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday] drain.

And the biggest opportunity?

New transport links and elevations are putting the City on the cultural map for more people than ever.

What’s a small detail you obsess over that customers might not notice?

The guest’s first impression moment. Also the legs on our poseur tables being identically positioned.

Who is your typical customer?

We love welcoming international guests and showing them a perspective of London they may not have had the chance to see before.

What does a perfect day in the Square Mile look like?

I recently suggested this itinerary to family visiting: arrive in the City by uber boat, climb up the monument, grab a Rosslyn Coffee ice-cream then head to 14 Hills for a cocktail. Then simply get lost between the streets – there’s so many churchyards and historic blue plaques to admire!

What do you like to have on your morning toast?

Marmite!
