Known for its fresh, sustainably sourced seafood, the menu showcases refined dishes cooked over an open fire. Located on the 7th floor of 5-star South Place Hotel, Angler boasts panoramic views of the square mile and a tucked away rooftop bar overlooking the city lights.
Angler History
The ever-changing menu features only seasonal and carefully sourced produce, to produce picture-perfect plates. Using passion and precision, Craig meticulously curates each dish to celebrate the taste and textures of the ingredients, using a variation of techniques, flavours and seasonings. Whilst known for sensational seafood, vegetarians and meat eaters alike are also well catered for with the best seasonal and local produce. To complement the food, the restaurant offers extensive bottled wine lists specially selected by our sommelier.
The Chef’s Table
The Chef’s Table, Angler’s semi-private dining room, is located at the end of the restaurant, where guests can feel, and see into, the buzz of the kitchen. With views looking out across the City, this spot is an ideal space for intimate dinners or celebrating special occasions.
Head Chef, Craig Johnston
Craig brings his creative flair to the renowned menus that have earned Angler its stellar reputation. Craig’s journey began at 16 in his hometown of Maidenhead. He then moved to London to join Pollen Street Social, honing his pastry skills, before moving to the Michelin- starred Royal Oak in Paley Street. At just 21, Craig became the youngest-ever winner of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2017. Following his MasterChef victory, Craig joined the team at Marcus Belgravia, working with Marcus Wareing. Over the course of four years, he worked his way up to become head chef, a position he held for two years. His accomplishments earned him an Acorn Award in 2022, marking him as one of the industry’s brightest stars.
