CityAM Business As Usual Podcast
CityAM's Business As Usual podcast, releasing Tuesdays to Fridays at 6am.

In today’s episode of CityAM’s Business As Usual podcast, we get stuck in the top stories of the day – from a catastrophic start to the week in the Asian markets to the ex-reality TV star making a killing off non-alcoholic spirits.

City Editor Simon Hunt gives his round up on the major business stories lighting up the CityAM newsroom. Could tech stock jitters in Asia, which saw shares crash eight per cent on Monday, spread to the wider market? Simon gives his take on whether it’s time to sell.

Elsewhere, Simon tackles new research from the British Retail Consortium with encouraging spending figures – but is this just a brief heatwave bounce? And, with Brewdog founder James Watt promising to buy back his old firm, will the beer baron manage to make a success of a new venture?

Meanwhile, seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is back in the news. And that’s not because of his barnstorming second-place finish at Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix, but instead because of resurfaced comments he made on a podcast back in 2023.

The F1 star told podcaster Jay Shetty back in 2023 that there should be no billionaires, and that instead there should be caps on how much wealth one person can accumulate.

Editor-in-Chief Christian May gives his thoughts on Hamilton’s economic punditry.

Plus: Deputy Life&Style Editor Adam Bloodworth chats to former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews about his non-alcoholic cocktail brand – and why chasing immortality is pointless.

Listen here, with new episodes live Tuesday to Friday at 6am.
